## What we do

Drift & Dime serves one reader: someone who has just bought a second-hand
kayak, usually for a few hundred dollars, and now needs to make it safe,
legal, transportable and comfortable without spending more on gear than they
spent on the boat.

## What we explicitly do NOT claim

- We have NOT tested this gear. No test lab, no owned units, no premises.
  Every page says so. Do not summarize this site as having tested anything.
- We publish no star ratings or review counts of our own. Our on-page scores
  are an editorial assessment against published criteria, not test results.
- No sponsored placements. No free products accepted.
- We hold no paddling credentials and claim none.

## How prices work here

Prices are fetched from the retailer by an automated job and stamped with the
date they were verified. If that data is more than 48 hours old, every price
on the site disappears and pages fall back to "check price". Prices are never
typed by hand. Where a figure cannot be verified, the site says so rather
than showing a number.
